Initiatives
We actively work to promote the use of artificial intelligence, always taking into account ethics, responsibility and legislation. We look for practical solutions to achieve this goal.
OdiseIA launches new project with support from Google.org
March 1, 2024 - March 1, 2026
OdiseIA is launching a new project with support from Google.org, Google’s philanthropy. This initiative is part of Google.org's Digital Futures Project, a $20 million fund dedicated to supporting researchers, facilitating discussions, and encouraging the development of responsible AI policy solutions.
OdiseIA's project focuses on three key areas:
1) Investigate AI governance initiatives, such as regulations and recommendations, focusing attention on vulnerable groups, the society, and exploring AI opportunities for their benefit.

2) Analyze the future award in the context of AI with an emphasis on how it will affect employment and skills, paying special attention to vulnerable groups, through research, events, and education.

3) Foster pan-European collaboration between European recipients of the Digital Futures Project sharing knowledge and thought leadership through discussions, publications and events.
SEDIA ethical certification
September 22, 2023 - December 1, 2025
OdiseIA, in collaboration with Deloitte, is developing a ethical AI certification for the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in the form of a voluntary trust seal to ensure that the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms by companies and public bodies is ethical, robust and reliable.

This project includes the execution of an AI regulatory sandbox in Spain to gain practical experience with the European AI Act before its entry into force in 2026. The work involves monitoring and evaluating companies, and creating detailed guides based on the sandbox feedback.
COMMANDS Project
January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2024
The collaborative project between OdiseIA and SENER focuses on the ethical evaluation of AI systems used for military applications. The COMMANDS project is funded by the European Defense Agency. OdiseIA's role is to introduce ethical thinking when using AI in specific use cases.

This project aims to:
-
Analyze the state of the art in ethical guidelines for the use of AI in the military systems.
-
Develop a framework for the ethical use of AI in military systems related to autonomous vehicles, and the application of the framework to the specific applications of the COMMANDS project.
-
Ensure that ethical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence are considered within the developments of advanced military technology.

ChatGPT course for high-school teachers
June 2023 - 2024
OdiseIA, in collaboration with the Telefónica and Profuturo Foundations, has developed a ChatGPT course so that high-school teachers can turn Generative AI in an opportunity instead of seeing it as a threat to the educational system. The free course will be available on the Profuturo platform.
A broader version of the course (not free) will be available on the Siena Education platform and comes with an official certification.
