Through Subgroup 2.1 of OdiseIA’s Google Caire project, we are pleased to present the final, revised, and consolidated version (October 2025) of Professions of the Future: New Opportunities and Requirements.
Coordinated by Ricardo Palomo, this document represents the culmination of a collective effort (Dolo Abuin, Frank Escandell, José Javier Sesma, Jorge Cerqueiro), developed throughout 2024 and 2025, offering an in-depth reflection on the impact of artificial intelligence on emerging professional profiles.
Methodology
Between June 2024 and June 2025, in-depth personal interviews were conducted with experts, each lasting an average of 45 minutes. In parallel, a comprehensive questionnaire was administered, covering all key aspects related to the working group’s area of study.
Subsequently, between July and September 2025, the experts interviewed were consulted again and invited to contribute any additional perspectives, in recognition of the rapid evolution of AI. During the same period, a simplified eight-question survey was also launched on LinkedIn and aimed at the general public, with the objective of comparing expert opinions with broader public perceptions.
The results presented in this report are based on the analysis of qualitative information gathered through interviews with individual experts and representatives of institutions. These contributions reflect a wide range of professional profiles and areas of responsibility, including lawyers, business executives, leaders of representative organizations, human resources specialists, technologists, educators, and economists, among others. The interviews were conducted both nationally and internationally, and were complemented by the aforementioned questionnaires addressed to the general public.
